Groups at St John's

PLAYGROUP: A very popular playgroup for 2 to 4 year olds, open from Monday to Thursday 9.15 am -11.45 am. Registered for 24 children per morning, we have a wide variety of table top and large equipment, helping children to gain gross motor skills and small manipulative skills. We have joined the Early Years Development in Child Care Partnership, which gives every 3 year old a free place. We are working towards the Early Learning Goals set out by the Government. The playgroup undergoes Ofsted inspections, rated 'good' on the last occasion, which helps to maintain a high standard of early years learning and experience.

TINY TOTS: A todler club meeting on Tuesday mornings, we cater for babies from a few weeks old to toddlers of 2½ years, with a variety of large and small equipment aimed at extending their co-ordination and manoeuvrability. For the current term there are approximately 40 names on the roll of attendance.

HOUSE GROUPS: Two small groups meet in homes during the week for various aspects of fellowship and learning - one on Tuesday evenings at 8.00 pm, one on Thursday evenings at 8.00 pm.

PRAYER GROUP: An informal meeting usually on alternatemonths, between meetings of the Church Council (which is always preceded by a prayer time).

HOLIDAY CLUB: Each year there is a holiday club held in August featuring different themes.

PAINT POTS: An informal, friendly group of artists, based at the church. We meet on the second Monday of each month, from 7.00 pm till 9.00 pm. Members are at various levels of skills, with many who enjoy using water colours. We all enjoy learning from each other in a friendly, encouraging atmosphere and have outdoor painting trips and visits to exhibitions. Why not come along and join us? paintpots

ST JOHN'S CHOIR: A friendly group of singers from the congregation meets usually twice per month for a Thursday evening rehersal, occasionally contributing to Sunday services and other events. What's required is enthusiasm rather than great musical gifts!.
