Rev Adele Moorhouse
          Rev Adele Moorhouse (Methodist)

I joined the church of St John the Evangelist Kingston Park in September 2018.  Working with four denominations in a single congregation is certainly interesting but very rewarding and also exciting, particularly in the light of Jesus' prayer that we might all be one.  The church's location in a busy and growing community offers many opportunities for making contact and building relationships with those who are yet to know Jesus - something I have always been very keen to do.

I grew up in Scarborough, moving north to study at Newcastle University in 1979 and then settling in Cramlington which has been home since 1982.  Following almost 18 years as a full time mum to four children, I trained at the Wesley Study centre, part of St John's College in Durham, before serving as a Methodist minister for 14 years in the South East Northumberland Ecumenical Area.  I am married to Steve and we enjoy walking, reading, watching films and catching up with family including our much loved grandchildren.

I'd love to meet you so please keep an eye on the website for events and services, or maybe drop in to The Beacon at St John's for coffee if you are ever free some time between 10 and 12 on a Wednesday morning.

Rev Annie Gray (Church Of England)

I joined the church of St John the Evangelist Kingston Park in May 2020.
I was born in Blackpool and for the first 7 years of my life lived in a large extended family with my Nana, Grandad, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and my Mum above an amusement arcade, which my family ran, on the sea front.
Who would have thought that calling Bingo, chasing tourists with my cap gun and packing presents for the vending machine would make an ideal training ground for ministry?

I have had lots of jobs in the Arts and Teaching, as community artist in various charities, as a teacher of none school attendees, working at Kenton with disaffected youth, painting wall murals, illustrating books, working for MIND, enabling Stress Relief after Foot and Mouth, too many to mention.
After living in India, I had a powerful conversion to Christianity, and when I came back I trained as a Medical Homeopath and Herbalist, later adding The Bowen Technique, and Counselling. I founded an Ecumenical Christian Charity, The New Life Natural Health Care Trust in North Shields. It was a Church on the high street and by the grace of God grew to over 80 volunteers and 28 therapists serving over 5,000 users per annum.
After training for Ministry, I served in a variety of rural and city churches, then as chaplain in a hospice and as Lead Chaplain at two large acute hospitals.
I have the heart of a pastor and the vision of an entrepreneur, a love of God and skills I hope I can use to serve people, in body, mind and spirit.
